Web Accessibility
For people with special education needs
As part of adapting Tibidabo's website to the needs of people with disabilities, we adhere to Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) guidelines for website accessibility, as promoted by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
The program adheres to XHTML 1.0 Strict and style standard CSS 2.1. We have adopted all established priority 1 and 2 recommendations as well as many priority 3 recommendations.
Thus, features include the following:
- Compatibility with different browsers such as Explorer 6 or higher, Firefox 1.5 or higher and Mozilla 1.1
- Browsing without needing JavaScript.
- Access to all content using either a mouse or keyboard. Descriptive texts for images and alternatives to multimedia content.
- Explicit notification of all links, with alternatives where there are image maps, and warning that a new window will open, if applicable.
- User control of font size
- A range of technical measures aimed at facilitating access to browsers-readers
Links
So that the user can scan page links, we have ensured that links make sense out of context.
Links in new windows have been restricted to external links and links to documents. These links are indicated with Open Link in a new window. Thus, marked links only open in a new window if the user has Javascript enabled. Otherwise, the link opens in the same window.
Accessibility programming
