Drop tower 2024

At Tibidabo Amusement Park we have great and fantastic news! It's official! 🎉 A new ride will be added to the Park's offer in 2024! The new attraction is a 50-meter drop tower that will be located on level 1, next to the Globus.

The most daring visitors will be able to live a new experience in the Amusement Park challenging gravity with the new attraction. The new drop tower will make you climb 50 meters (adding the 500 meters high where the Park is 😉) allowing you to observe the views of Tibidabo and the city of Barcelona. Once at the top, you will experience a spectacular feeling of adrenaline falling until you return to the attraction station. This will have a capacity for 24 people and will be able to make 360° turns during the ascent and once up, so you can see all the views that the attraction will offer.

In addition, thanks to the design of the safety harnesses and seats, 125 centimetres in height will be enough to be able to access the free fall. The maximum limit to be able to access it will be 195 centimetres. One of the main features of the attraction will be the braking system. A state-of-the-art magnetic braking system. The design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the attraction will be done under the EN13814: 2019 certification. The required electrical power will be about 300 kW, from the lowest to similar installations. Also, the attraction will feature magnetic braking to stop. That is, it will not work with an electromagnet, which is given and taken away from the electricity. That there is no cable, he emphasizes, intensifies the free fall.

Thus, we begin to work on the installation and theme of the new star of the Tibidabo Amusement Park. We look forward to the new drop tower coming to the Park and making us all experience a new feeling of adrenaline, excitement and, above all, a lot of magic! ✨
